There are developments to report tonight in the many trials of Police Corporal Elmer Nah. The most minor case he has - which is for 2 counts or kept unlicensed ammunition for 129 live rounds has concluded and Senior Magistrate, Baja Shoman will give a decision perhaps next month. In that, he is charged along with his common-law, Epifania Caliz and her brother Manuel Caliz.
Bradley today told our court reporter that Nah's attorney did establish some key facts in favor of the defence:
Cpl. Nah was again remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison while Epifania Caliz and her brother, Cpl. Manuel Caliz remains out on Supreme Court bail.
One of the other significant cases for Nah, which is the trial of the Bladden 12 for allegedly participating in landing a drug plane, is set to kick off in October 2023 against 4 cops, and 8 others.
Of course, he still faces a triple murder charge for the killing of John, David and Vivian Ramnarace in Belmopan.
