And while police investigate to see who had the blame, Ramirez's dad speculates that his deceased son was drunk after going to a club. Here's what he told CTV-3 in Spanish:

Jose Ramirez, Father of deceased

"He was coming on the road, he was coming to San Estevan from Orange Walk. He went to run errands and cut his hair at the same friend who told us about the accident, and he was cutting his hair at around 6:00 pm,that's what his friend told us. He says after that he left and went to "D GYM", and I think because well, my son does like to drink, and to get to San Estevan it doesn't take more than 3 or 4 minutes on your way. I think he went to D Gym and saw it was getting late and I think he got a bit drunk and wasn't being careful. And that's the only thing I can think of he had to be drunk."

And there was another road fatality in Orange Walk last night, again just before 9. This one occurred between miles 52 and 53 on the Philip Goldson Highway when 34-year-old Javier Patt was riding his bicycle. A white pickup truck heading toward the town hit him from behind, causing him to be flung off the bike. A man on a motorcycle was also caught in the midst of the incident and the driver, 36-year-old Edgar Robert lost control and also crashed. Both men were rushed to the hospital where Patt died receiving treatment.
