Prime Minister John Briceno is off to the European Union, a release today informs the Belizean public that he's headed for the 2023 EU-CCELAC summit.
PM Briceno is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eamon Courtenay, and Cabinet Secretary Stuart Leslie among others.
We know that one issue the PM is working on is the possibility of a Schengen visa waiver for Belizeans and that is on the table.
The release from his office tonight indicates that he will proceed on personal leave after the summit and won't return to Belize until Jul 31st. During Prime Minister Briceno's absence, Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde, will hold over as Prime Minister.
