A string of robberies have been reported in the West over the past two weeks - and there was another today.

At around 10:00 this morning, two men on motorcycle pounced on a mennonite delivery truck making a stop at a meat shop in Santa Elena.

The 2 armed men on cycles clubbed the mennonites the guns, ordered them on the ground, and stole a reported $20,000 dollars in cash. They used helmets the whole time and escaped on motorcycle.

There was also a robbery at Anthony's store on September 8th where two robbers, again on Motorcycle made off with roughly 20,000 Belize dollars and a firearm belonging to the security guard. A video taken by residents across the street captures the moment that both men, wearing black helmets, fled the scene on a motorcycle, as the store owner quickly began to lock up the shop after the incident unfolded.

The second incident happened only 6 days later on September 14th, where an elderly businessman and resident of Santa Elena, Natalio Castaneda was attacked and shot while leaving his home en route to his tortilla factory at 2:00 AM. Reports are that the robbers in that case were also on motorcycle.
