And though the counsels compensation concerns may have been addressed today, the AG also spoke with us about the other issue, which is security for the crown counsels in an increasingly dangerous criminal environment. The crowns have pointed to "increasing risks and threats to their well-being by brazen criminals."
Will adjustments now be made to address the changing crime climate and the active threats prosecutors face? The AG discussed this.
Anthony Sylvestre, Attorney General
"So you will appreciate that it doesn't matter what security apparatus you put up that there's a potential that it may still be breached so I am hopeful that the incidents that the incident with that person you spoke to is a one off situation and it's not the norm it's not on an everyday daily basis that you would have that. As I have said before there are security arrangements that have been put in place that behooves us to state publicly what are the extent of those security arrangements, but there are security arrangements that have been put in place and I am confident that those address the concerns that have been expressed."
"And we are putting in place and have put in place mechanisms to address and deal with the change in times and the revolving criminality as we now see as a country."
