Tonight the notorious Meighan Brothers of Banak street, are free men after they were found not guilty of being in a gang. The acquittal of Tyrone, Ellis and Shaquille came after a trial which started back in 2022 followed by months of being locked up on remand.
More than 20 witnesses were called by the prosecution, while the brothers were represented by attorneys Richard "Dickie" Bradley and Leeroy Banner.
A Senior Magistrate found that the prosecution had not established a clear link between the brothers and the Ghost Town Crips which they were accused of being a part of.
After being acquitted, Tyrone and Ellis Meighan were able to meet bail of $2,5000 granted to them by a Senior Magistrate of another court for which they were charged earlier this year for aggravated assault upon a man they allegedly beat up at their Banak Street home.
Their bail today was given with stringent conditions including an 8:00 pm - 5:00 AM curfew, and that they cannot leave the jurisdiction without the permission of the court.
