Day two of the abetment to murder trial against attorney Oscar Selgado continued today in the High Court.
The heart of the prosecution's case was unveiled this morning, when inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino presented a statement taken from alleged hitman for hire, Geovanny Ramirez. He alleged that Selgado had hired him to kill Marilyn Barnes in order to suppress a complaint she was making to the general legal counsel.
In his statement to the police, Ramirez revealed that after he informed Selgado that he had video recordings of their conversation where he tried to hire him for a hit on Barnes, he then confided all of this in commissioner of police Chester Williams - because he feared for his life.
According to his statement there are currently 8 clips which should be part of the evidence against Selgado, and this afternoon the Commissioner showed up to testify that Ramirez had sent him the videos, and then went into hiding out of fear for his life.
After the commissioner gave his statement Selgado's attorney, former Supreme Court judge Adolph Lucas gave us a brief discussion on today's proceedings involving the commissioner.

Adolph Lucas, Attorney
"Something the Dpp wanted to be played it was not on the DVD its on the commissioner of police's phone that is recorded so they need to burn that that's the term and hand it to me, then I am going to look at the previous one they handed to me and make a comparison."
Reporter
"There seems to be a change in the course and direction the trial is heading now in terms of the type of evidence."
Adolph Lucas, Attorney
"There is no change that has been disclosed to me except the one that the commissioner has on his phone. So they can't do that it won't be fair."
Reporter-
"In terms of proceedings can you tell us what needs to happen now for the aspect to conclude?"
Adolph Lucas, Attorney
"I want to say it's just the commissioner, just the commissioner evidence."
Selgado will return to court on October 11th - when the rest of the Commissioner's evidence is expected to be presented.
