A man is in jail tonight, awaiting sentencing for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 12 year old boy.
In August of 2022, 33 year old Jeffery Gillett was arrested and charged for two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse after he was accused of raping a 12 year old boy twice. Today Gillett appeared before Justice Nigel Pilgrim and was found guilty on both counts, after the court heard the victims testimony.
In a dock statement Gillett told the court that he is a law abiding citizen, has a common-law wife and is not interested in little boys.
The judge didn't buy it and he was found guilty with sentencing set for December 1st 2023. Gillett could face a mandatory minimum of 12 years in prison.
His bail was revoked today and he was remanded.
