Tonight, Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow is weighing his options after the House of Representatives voted that he must apologize to the speaker of the house in writing by 5:00 pm on October 31st.

We'll tell you all about that vote, but first to the most burning question of the day: Did Patrick Faber really cross the floor? And did he and his leader sit on the same side of the House?

No to the first one, and yes to the second.

No less than Barrow himself declared two days ago that Faber had effectively crossed the floor. That's after the Collet representative wrote to the Constitution and Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday saying he distanced himself from Barrow's insulting letter to the house speaker. He wrote, quote, "The way the Speaker of the Honorable House was addressed in the…correspondence is not reflective of the respect and decorum we should maintain." End quote.

Barrow took that as an act of treasonous disloyalty and said he'd trigger a bye election to remove Faber - which is the political equivalent of "off with his head".

Well today Faber went to the house meeting and sat in his usual spot - two seats down from his Leader and declared - he's not going anywhere - especially over to the other side:

Patrick Faber, UDP Collet
"You know my position, I made my position very clear in the letter and to be honest with you, it makes me very uncomfortable to see so many PUPs agree with me in this honourable house today. I'm glad that you didn't make any space in a hurry for me over there because that ain't happening."

"I don't know where you all are going today. but if it is a vote you're looking for, it ain't going to happen, I want to make that clear, because I am a UDP and I am not in any kind of way siding with the People's United Party, or with the government, but I am standing up for what I believe is correct as it relates to decorum in this Honorable House."
