And while Martinez's impatience at the policy level is understandable, for Wilmer Coyi's family, all that talk is pretty meaningless. All they know is that their loved one is dead. Today his mother spoke to CTV-3 in August Pine Ridge and said that she wants an investigation into what went wrong. Here's her interview translated from Spanish:

Fani Coye, Mother of Deceased

"Well when we investigated, they only told us what happened because we couldnt go and see him. Belize city is far away and they told us it made no sense to go because there was nothing we could do. We investigated through one of the guys who knows him and worKwith him, and he was the one who told us yes. So then we called the mennonite and he told us yes its Coye from August Pine ridge. He confirmed it was my son. But none of us could believe what had happened, or how it happened because he left early that morning, and we found out just after 9:30 about what had happened. He was a calm guy, he never got angry he was also very calm with us, he was a good guy. He drank a bit from time to time but he never caused us any problems. He has two girls, one of them he wasn't raising but its two girls, he leaves two girls behind."
