Also taken to the senate today was the government's undertaking to OCEANA. This is a follow up to the joint statement of two weeks ago where the government confirmed that it has no intention of violating the Moratorium on offshore drilling - but they just can't afford a referendum right now. So, they introduced a Bill to amend the Referendum Act, to make it so that a mandatory referendum must be held prior to any proposed amendment or repeal of the Petroleum Operations Moratorium Act of 2017.
