Last night we told you about 3 Jamaicans detained in Belize - because immigration authorities think they want to go north.
Tonight, six Brazilians are behind bars awaiting deportation after they were caught in Belize yesterday. The group consists of four men and two women and they appeared unrepresented before a senior magistrate today, where they were jointly read one charge of illegal entry.
Reports say that the Brazilians entered Belize illegally through the Mopan River yesterday and were busted on a Valencia Bus by Immigration Officers at a checkpoint on the Hattieville/Boom road junction. They pleaded guilty and were fined $1,000, in default six months imprisonment.
The group requested to return home - and left the courthouse waving goodbye.
