And one of the strongest messages the United Churches are hoping resonates with the government is the call to restore diplomatic relations with Israel. The government suspended ties in the midst of the massacre, and the prime minister has said that they have all intentions to reestablish them once a ceasefire is implemented.
But despite the alarmingly high number of deaths in Gaza, one pastor says it's unfair for GOB to take those measures, and that those deaths are incurred in ending Hamas.

"People are dying however, if they need to get rid of Hamas, then do what it takes, but our government should look at restoring diplomatic relations with Israel because come on, we want to be fair, they didn't move it with Russia when Russia was indiscriminately bombing the people of Ukraine into residential areas, how they didn't call the ambassador of Russia? They didn't call the ambassador of Maduro, of Venezuela, we still have diplomatic relations with them while they're doing the same thing. Nicaragua is doing the same thing, Daniel Ortega, what happened man? So let's be fair. So with Israel, while our constitution, the preamble says we are a nation under the supremacy of God, our national prayer says almighty and eternal God, our national anthem says almighty and eternal God, come on, we got to be fair."
