He's the licensed gun owner who took his licensed AR15 rifle to his grandmother's funeral and brandished it to scare off his relatives. And for that serious error in judgement, Municipal Court Bailiff Brandon Gillett spent Christmas on remand in prison.
But, as of last night he was out on High Court bail of $10,000 granted by Justice Antoinette Moore late yesterday evening.
Gillett appeared virtually from a Cell Block at the Belize Central Prison where his attorney Orson "OJ" Elrington also appeared virtually for the bail application.
And with no objection to bail by the DPP's office, he was granted bail with the usual conditions.
Gillett had tried to plead guilty last week to modifying his licensed.223 rifle but did not agree to the facts of the case.
