And as we head into the new year, an alleged killer is still on the run. It's been almost a month since Hildebrand Codd escaped from police custody. But he has to be somewhere, and today the ComPol warned anyone that may be harboring him that they are committing a crime, and if they are caught, they will be prosecuted.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"I am still hopeful that the young man will surrender himself to the police or that his family members are going to encourage him to surrender to the police. We do get information that he's somewhere in the Belmopan area and may be facilitated by some people. I want to sound it clear that harboring a fugitive is an offense and it is punishable with imprisonment. If we were to find Hildebrand Codd in the company of anybody or if we were to have evidence that anybody was facilitating him during the time that he escaped, we will ensure that we prosecute that person to the full extent of the law so again just to sound a warning, if the family members know where he is, I am asking them to please ask him to surrender himself to the police and we go from there."

Since escaping, Codd has been convicted in absentia of the murder of Densmore Bowman.
