And while police are on the hunt for Matus' other murderer, no arrests have been made for the killing of 28-year-old Trevor Brown. Yesterday you heard from Brown's mother, who said that the autopsy showed that he was fatally shot in the back.
We asked the ComPol if indeed they will refrain from charging the killer based on the claim of self-defense, and he said that the decision was made by the DPP's office.

"Sir can we get an update on the Trevor Brown murder that happened in thirsty's parking lot, because I spoke to his mother yesterday and she says she is rejecting the claim of self defense which you said that the shooter could have made that claim she says that the shot that killed Mr Brown was in his back."

"I don't want to go into much details for that matter again. I think that the public can be a good arbitrator of that matter. The law does give the opportunity to make a preemptive strike. I noticed that many people are saying that it was the other young man who fired first but if you see a man coming towards you with a gun in his hand in a ridge are you going to wait for him to shoot you before you shoot back? You might not have that chance. So given that opportunity to make a preemptive strike I could understand what the mother of Trevor Brown is saying, and I don't want to say nothing to offend her. She has a right to say what she is saying, but we can only be guided by the facts as we see them and the video footage and the statements were sent to the DPP's office, and the DPP office made that determination not the police and we are guided by that."
