And while Kyle was killed on Saturday, the first murder of the weekend might have occurred on Thursday. That's when 40-year-old Shane Baizar went missing. In the evening, he told a friend that he was going to a store in Ladyville, and then home to Bermudian Landing to do some work. But hours later, he suddenly stopped responding to her messages.
Over the weekend, his family was worried sick, and began searching his property for him. It wasn't until this morning that he was found buried in a shallow grave.
But Baizar was a businessman, and to his family's knowledge, he didn't have any problems with anyone. So who could have wanted him dead?
Courtney Menzies went to his home to find some answers.
By the time this "missing person" post was made, it had been two days since 40-year-old Shane Baizar was heard from. And since he communicates with one of his closest friends everyday, she was worried when he stopped answering her texts on Thursday evening.

"I spoke to Shane on Thursday and he told me he was coming to my house but I was in the city working so I told him I wasn't ready to come up yet so I called him back around minutes to 6 when I was ready to go up, and he said, I'm already at Lowe's. That's Ladyville right, that's Thursday. So I said, go through because I'm still in the city, but my boyfriend is at home. So he said, alright, i'm just going to the yard, I'll pass through because I have to go home to deal with something, that was Thursday."
"I called Shane, Shane didn't answer me, Shane didn't seen me, and Shane is a person who always responds back to me, even if he sends me a text, he always responds back so that was Friday night. So Saturday morning, my cousin came and said, I thought Shane was here because I just left from Landing and Shane's whole house is open, and a can of paint is open. So I'm like, what? Shane would never be so irresponsible and leave his spot open."
The next day, she went to make a police report, and found that his sister was already there. They both knew something was wrong since Baizar has never disappeared like that before. So on Sunday, they began searching, but it wasn't until this morning that they found his body on his property in Bermudian Landing.
And reports are, his dog, Shadow, was instrumental in the discovery.

"We came up yesterday and a lot of us, the family members and everybody, we walked the property and we looked in some bushes, we took the boat down the river and saw nothing and so we said we're going to come back this morning and try to find him again."
"There were two groups of us so myself and some officers, we went down to the riverside and the other group came this side with them, it's not GSU, I'm not sure. And so a little bit into the search, like maybe ten minutes, we were walking up from the river through the trails and then the officer I was with got a call that they found a spot that needed to be looked at so we came this side."
"Shadow was very helpful, yes."
But before his body was found, other strange discoveries were made on his property. The first was his favorite ring, caked in blood, and the second was a small shelter near the river.

"Yesterday when we came and did the search yesterday, I came, God, this is after the police left, this is after forensic left, and I walked to the edge of Shane's yard and my foot touched Shane's ring, his ring was on the ground, and the ring had blood on it. I said, oh my God, maybe my family is trying to show me a sign. The sign was, I'm right here, fam, don't stop looking for me, I'm right here. that was the sign."
And his loved one say that he worked hard to build up his business from the ground, Konjo Eco Farm. And even with his success, those who knew him said he helped others whenever he could - and his friend believes that led to his demise.

"Very hardworking, well respected as well. You guys took a walk on his property, you saw everything he was doing, all the cabins, trails and everything, that took a lot of handwork, and he also employed a lot of young men from the village, having them do positive things."
"We don't know, we honestly don't know, we don't know if he had any issues with anybody, we don't know anything."

"Shane is, I feel like Shane trusts too much people, Shane's circle was too big and everybody knows Shane, like the community could tell you about Shane. If you're hungry, Shane will feed you, if you need somewhere to stay, Shane will make you stay and I just feel like that was his downfall because in this time and age you can't trust anybody."
"Tuesday Shane was at my house because like I told you, that's how I knew Shane was missing because Shane always comes to my house. Tuesday Shane told me something that stuck with me. He said, fam, I have somebody at my house, he said, I don't really want them there but I don't want to tell them that they have to go either. But he never said a name or nothing to me, that's all he said to me, I have somebody at my house, I don't want them there, but I don't know how to tell them to leave either. I don't know if he was trying to tell me something indirectly, I don't know, I don't understand why they would do this to Shane because Shane is such a nice person."
And there are more questions than answers, especially since Baizar's truck was found all the way near St Matthews in the Cayo District, and his Facebook page was active this morning.
But the hardest part for this family was that they still had hope that he was alive.

"We were still holding out hope that we would find him alive. Walking on the property, we were hoping to find something that would lead us to actually find him alive, not in a shallow grave."
Baizar leaves behind a son living in the US, and a daughter here in Belize.
