So, at court today we did ask the Commissioner about the operation to search Grant's home - and he said he's also in the dark. That led to a broader conversation about a case that enfolds many mysteries:
Reporter
"Can you talk to us about a raid that was affected on the property of Doris Grant overnight in Gardenia?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I'm not aware of that, no."
Jules Vasquez
"But you are aware that the property that police officers allegedly broke into and entered her property?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I am not aware of it. I know that Doris Grant had messaged me last night making a complaint, and I told her to go to PSB and launch a complaint there."
Jules Vasquez
"Is there a parallel police investigation happening here, sir, because the vibes I'm getting around this case is that things are happening deliberately above your head?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police "I'm not aware of that, no."
Jules Vasquez
"But if police officers were there, supposedly seven trucks, she says, without your knowledge..."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't need to be aware of every police operation. If I..."
Jules Vasquez
"Sir, you are the ultimate micromanager, sir."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police "Mr. Vasquez, you always conveniently get it wrong. Understand the meaning of micromanagement. Micromanager is a person who tells his people what to do and how to do it."
Jules Vasquez
"A.K.A."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I Don't do that. So please, just stop it and let's be real."
Jules Vasquez
"Sir, I cannot believe or accept that. Seven police trucks can move and Chester Williams don't know."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The police department is not Channel 7. It's not. Many a times operations are done across this country, and I don't know about it."
"I have said to my commanders, if you need to do an operation, do it. Just let me know the result of it. I cannot keep track of every operation that police conduct. I will go mad."
Reporter
"So were you given the results of last night's operation?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I have not had a chance to speak with those officers who went on that operation."
Jules Vasquez
"The Chester Williams, we know and love, would not receive a call of an egregious misdeed by police, and then just said, well, I will wait for the report."
"The Chester Williams, we know and love, would call and say, who is doing this and who is doing that. You're off your game or what?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Jules, I don't know you to love any Chester Williams. I don't. So please, rephrase that question. The Chester Williams that I have disliked for many years. Say it that way, right? But again, like I said, I give police officers the latitude to do what needs to be done. And if it is that people are aggrieved by the actions of police, then they go to PSB and make a report."
Reporter
"How well do you know Miss Grant?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Everybody know the Miss Grant,, Isani. Come on."
Reporter
"Was she on your radar before for this type of activity? We've heard that some Mennonites have also complained against her."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I am not aware of that, no. But yes, Doris Grant has always been on our radar."
Reporter
"What kind of crime, sir, or allegations?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Well, for the most part, I don't want to go into details because I might end up defaming people. She has not been convicted of none of these things, so I will just leave it at that. She has been on our radar."
Jules Vasquez
"In 2021, she was charged in Orange Walk for obtaining property by deception."
"You agree there is some weird energy around this case. You'll remember one of the Mennonite's homes was searched by the ANU. And I know the SPU has also visited a home I'm told, but there's this weird law enforcement energy around it with some very high-level operational teams intervening in their properties. What are police looking for?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"You just said that there is some allegation of millions of dollars going missing. You still ask what the police are looking for. If the police is involved in carrying out an investigation, the police will go to the homes of anybody who is a subject of that investigation."
"So if the police are visiting Ms. Grant, they're visiting the Mennonite. it's a part of the ongoing investigation process."
Reporter
"Have you heard of any complaints before against her and ordered that the police pursue her to the fullest extent of the law?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"There have been complaints against Ms. Grant where the police are currently involved in investigating."
We'll keep following the story.
