31-year-old Kenrick Longsworth was found guilty of manslaughter today after killing his 3-year-old stepson back in January of 2020.

While he was also charged for murder, Justice Derick Sylvester concluded that while Longsworth admitted that he hit Mark Teul, he did not intend to kill the child, and found him not guilty of that charge.

His other two stepsons, ages 4 and 2, were also found with injuries that indicated both physical and sexual abuse. For that crime, he was found guilty of wounding one of them despite being charged with the attempted murder of both. The justice ruled that there wasn't enough evidence to suggest he caused the injuries to the other son.

Longsworth was represented by Attorney Andrew Bennett. He has been on remand for the past 4 years.
