When will Belize's buses be upgraded? Any regular commuter knows the daily pain of traveling by bus.
Today we asked the Minister of Transport and he said give him a few months:

"Remember last year in 2024, and the period for the final grade is December 2024. So we are not there yet, so what we are doing is every month, I ask the chief transport officer to write the companies to remind them that December 2024 is coming."
"But I can tell you that some operators are really making some progress. I will not come at the stiff that we had initially. We have recognize that they can't afford to buy a bus for $130,000, for argument's sake."
"All we are asking them now is to make sure they have a good engine, they have good tyres, make sure they have a jack, make sure they have a spare tyre, so that when you go on the highway, it is more comfortable and more better ride."
"You give me up for December 31st, 2024 and we are going to see the enforcements. With the seating arrangement likewise."
