And while that officer is being prosecuted by Williams, today the ComPol commended two other cops for the restraint they showed during a bloody fight. On Friday night in front of 88 Supermarket on the Boulevard, a man was stabbed - but reports say he was defending himself. However, he might have taken it too far when he continued to attack the victim.
During the ordeal, though, no guns were fired, despite the ComPol saying that he wouldn't have faulted the officers if they did use their weapons. In fact, he declared that if it were him, he would have pulled the trigger.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"The incident I must say is one that really and truly, I don't know what to say per se but I saw a situation where the police officers were doing as best as they can to detain an individual who had stabbed another and as much as the police officers were trying to apprehend that individual, he was consistently resisting and trying to go after the person that he had stabbed. Obviously his intent was to kill because even as the person was lying on the ground, he was stamping the person in the head and the police officers again, while some may criticize them and say that they did not perform their duties the way they should, I'm not going to that extent because sometimes no matter the training you have, when you confront a situation you tend to forget that training and you just do what you believe can be done in that instant situation but if it were me from the mere fact that the individual had stabbed a person, the person is on the ground and he is constantly going after that person to try and finish off that person, I would have shot him. Again the police officer who were there had weapons and they exercised great restraint and I must applaud them for that even though I would have acted differently, I still endorse their actions in terms of exercising restraint because had they shot the individual I am sure that on the beef this morning, Jules would have also made ash of them. So again I think they ought to be commended for the work that they did, eventually the person was subdued and taken into custody. The victim was taken into the hospital and thank God he is recovering well."
Jules Vasquez:
"The person who ended up stabbed up was the aggressor in the first place though, right? If I understand it. My understanding is the man was walking out, the later aggressor, he approached him with a knife, the knife was taken away from him, and the initial perpetrator ended up getting stabbed."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I did not see the entire video footage, I can only speak to what I saw, I have not asked much questions about that likewise in terms of getting a full understanding of what led to the incident so perhaps you are right, I would have to check with the investigators but even if that if the case the fact that you have stabbed a man, the man is on the ground, defenseless, fighting for his life, you have no reason to go and stamp him in the head and these sorts of things, you certainly make your right become wrong."
As you heard in the story - despite the ferocity of the assault, the victim is listed in stable condition.
