Last week we told you that there were strange occurrences in the case of Aaron Flowers - the man who was beaten with a padlock by Inspector Christopher Martinez. You heard his mother say that he's been getting offers of land and money to drop the case, and his father fears that if he doesn't take the offers, his life will be in danger. Still, he has insisted to his mother that he will not drop the case.
Today we asked the ComPol if his cops have been pressuring Flowers - who is his relative. The compol deflected and focussed instead on the difference of opinion between two parents who are concerned for their son's life as he accuses a senior officer.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't know, I saw an interview where it was saying that the father wants the case to drop, the mother doesn't want it to drop and there's a conflict in the house, I think it was Channel 7 who ran that story, and there was a divide in the family over that issue. In terms of police going after anybody to have them resolve the matter, I don't know about that."
Courtney Menzies:
"Is there any reason that no administrative action was submitted in the case of Inspector Martinez in that 90 day period where you could make those submissions?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The matter is before the court and I'll leave it at that."
To clarify, Inspector Martinez's charge of wounding is before the court, however, administrative action is not a court matter and the two would not interfere with each other.
