Today, Doris Grant and Austin Underwood - who were imprisoned one week ago for gang members - got high court bail.
That was this morning, but before they could get themselves free - the prison was informed that they are now to be imprisoned for 90 days under the SOE.
Their attorney said he was infuriated by what he says as police playing a malicious game:
Ronel Gonzalez, Attorney for Grant and Underwood
"Let me start by saying I'm infuriated for my clients to say the least It is a very unfortunate situation Yes, they were granted bail earlier today this morning and you know after the granting of bail there's a process. The process went through and thereafter I'm learning from the prison from members of the court administration, that the information being passed is that in fact my clients cannot access their bails, because they are now being held on state of emergency. Apparently state of emergency documents were forwarded to the prison sometime around mid-day today and as such they cannot be released. I find it as an outright act of, If you want to say malice, spitefulness as we say in kriol on behalf of the police where I can only assume that their feeling towards what has transpired today must be a feeling of extreme disappointment."

"I could understand how disappointed they may feel to understand now that they are now being held on different grounds at the prison. Both are in serious need of medical treatment at this time. Mr. Underwood has suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg that I understand is being infected, because of the lack of medical treatment at the prison, that is my instructions from him and that in fact Miss Grant also has an injury to the hand."
Grant and Underwood were shot on June 16th on their way from the Trinidad concert - which police see as the index event that set off a cascade of street violence.
