You've seen Joseph Budna in the news many times before - like in the early 2010's when he was wanted by Guatemalan authorities for kidnapping, and then in 2014 when he escaped them, then again when he was re-captured, and in 2019 when he escaped - again!
More recently, last year, he and a minor were shot in his bedroom, and earlier this month, he faced an assault at the bus terminal.
Now, Budna is back in the news and this time it's for abetment to commit murder. He was arrested and charged today for an incident that occurred almost exactly three years ago, in July of 2021.
Armando Coy Cacao's body was found in the Maya Mopan area of Belmopan around 6:30 in the morning by a passerby. He'd been last seen 12 hours before that, riding his bicycle while intoxicated. A postmortem revealed he had been stabbed in the neck.
The self styled journalist Budna is not the only wanted person, police have also picked up a woman who'd been hiding in Silk Grass, and who was on Interpol's wanted list.
