While he was being taken away in the back of a police vehicle a week ago at the Belmopan Magistrates court, the outspoken and often outrageous Joseph Budna shouted allegations claiming that the charges for abetment to murder being brought against him were trumped up and the state is conspiring against him. When we spoke to the Compol today about Budna's case he dodged the question, and refused to explain why.
Reporter
"Who is the individual who was killed in Honduras in relation to the Armando Coy Cacao case that Budna is now being linked to?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I'm not going to go into that, no."
Reporter
"But the person is dead."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I'm still not going to go into it."
Reporter
"And you won't share a motive?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I know a motive, but I will not say."
Reporter
"Well, that's important. You usually say motives..."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"This one I can't say. I cannot say this one."
Reporter
"Why?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I can't say it."
Reporter
"That sounds suspicious. Then it leads into Budna's accusations that these charges are trumped up."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't know how you get there. Honestly, I don't."
Reporter
"I get there because you're being evasive."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I said just because I don't want to answer something means I'm being evasive?"
Reporter
"But you also know the name of the individual who was killed."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Why would I want to trump up charges against Budna? For what?"
Reporter
"Because he is outspoken and has gone after some politicians."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"How many people have not been outspoken against me, against the government? Do you see the police go after them? No. Come on, Marisol."
