Carnival is a time for revelry and reckless abandon in the streets - but there's also an underside to it - where too much alcohol, and too much flesh can cause revelry to turn into rivalry which can lead to what you might call the carnage of carnival.
That ugly underside showed itself last Wednesday night when an underage girl was assaulted by three persons, while two more persons stood back, cheered the beatdown and recorded the incident - even as she got a traumatic head injury. And like most "fight videos" this one made its rounds on social media, even capturing the attention and the criticism of the commissioner of police.
Today, all five persons were arraigned in court - even the ones who were recording. ACP Romero told us more.

"An investigation was carried out and we have arrested and charged five persons, they are Kimar Castillo, Kaden Diego, Christina Thurton who were charged for grievous harm and Felix Shepherd and Aneeji Conorquie were charged for abetment to commit grievous harm. They were to appear in court this morning."
