Police recently detained a Corozal resident in connection to the rape of his 12 year old step daughter. The minor, along with her mother filed a police report last month, stating that the she was raped on two separate occasions over a period of 5 years. ASP Stacey Smith told us more about the progress of the investigation.

"Corozal police are currently investigating a report of rape of a child which relates to a 12 year old female minor in that jurisdiction the female minor along with her mother visited the Corozal police station on 29th of may and reported that her step father had sexual intercourse with her in 2019 and also in 2025 a medical examination was conducted on the female minor where it was confirmed that she has been carnally known. Police investigation into this incident continues whereby statements are being recorded from persons who police believe would aid in this investigation."
