The siblings, Sidney and David Montenegro were described as very close, and were on their way back from a swimming trip in Bladden when the fatal accident occurred. Police Staff Officer ASP Stacy Smith gave us more details on what they gathered at the scene last night.

"Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred at approximately 5:23 Pm last night in between mile 62 and 63 on the Thomas Vincent Ramos highway in southern belize. This accident resulted in in the death of siblings Sidney Montenegro 21 years of age and Juan David Montenegro 20 years of age as well as the injury of Mr Asucion Tush when police responded to the scene of the incident a brown I colour single pick up truck was observed far the investigation has revealed that the vehicle containing the occupants and being driven by Juan was heading from Medina Bank towards Bella Vista village where upon arriving at the mentioned location the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to flip several times the scene of the accident has been processed and inspection is slated to be carried out on the vehicle to ascertain what if any clarity it can provide relation to the cause of the accident."
"We do not have any clear indication of that so far however we can confirm that alcohol bottles were viewed on the scene."
