This afternoon, bystanders in the Southern Foreshore area saw something floating in the sea. When they look closer, they saw that it was the dead, decomposing body of a partially nude man. After the body was retrieved police saw a number of tattoos on him, but, at news time they have been unable to confirm his identity. Commissioner Rosado says that they are treating the incident as a death investigation until they can find out what happened.

Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police:
"I can confirm that sometime this afternoon a body was discovered behind Bliss institute and we have still not identified the body as yet so we are treating it as a death investigation but we have not confirmed the identity of the person as yet."

"We do know that the individual has several tattoo marks on him. I believe one of the tattoo marks on his arm has Anthony on it but we are still trying to determine who the individual is."

"The individual appears to be in his early 40's I would say."

Police do not believe the person drowned. We'll let you know when the body is identified.
