And while those two are abroad - we assume the police officer now in charge of the investigation into the events of the night of August 22nd, ACP Suzette Anderson has started working on compiling evidence. Jules Vasquez found that an interesting place to start might be the Mahogany Street police sub-station. Here's why:

On the morning of Thursday August 21 at around 9:30 am, Constable Barry Flowers - member of the Special Patrol Unit entered the Mahogany Street sub-station to pick up a weapon - a 9mm pistol.

But that in itself unusual because the shift detail shows he was on leave - and officers on leave are not permitted to access weapons.

But, he had approval from someone in the high command - and he got that pistol.

Reports say he showed up to the station in a Chevy Equinox - the same type that was used in the abduction - and, because he was on leave, his wife and child were inside.

This camera perched outside the station would have captured that very easily. A key link in the investigation - but will ACP Suzette Anderson care to look?

And who would authorize an officer on leave to get a weapon and why?

Another SPU officer whose name has been called in the kidnapping - shows on this duty relief as being on special assignment. What was the assignment? And who assigned him? Both Flowers and this other officer were out on leave or special assignment from Thursday the 21st to Sunday the 24th

Both officers mentioned in that story are assigned to the SPU. We'll keep digging for more answers and have more for you on Thursday's news.
