Last week we told you that 31 year old Burton Claire and 22 year old Kareem Allen were set free after the charges levied against them for allegedly attacking and robbing former city councillor Deannie Requena were dropped. But the DPP has since instructed the police to rearrest and charge them once again. They will now have to face a trial at the lower court.

Claire was arraigned on charges of one count of use of deadly means of harm and wounding, to which he pleaded not guilty. Allen was charged with one count of theft and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly instrument. He also pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor did not object to bail, and they were granted it in the sum of $6,000 plus two sureties of $3,000 each. Both men were represented by attorney Ronell Gonzalez. Their next court date is set for September 18th.
