And while Jones is acting Compol, Assistant Commissioner Suzette Anderson is leading an investigation into the Budna abductIon - the investigation - which Musa said should have been independent. But now it is being led by a senior cop. We asked for his views:

"Like I said earlier ACP Anderson enjoys a lot of confidence of not just me as the minister of police but the government and the public at large. I think she has a high level of integrity and support and I do believe that she can do the job."

"Her report will be submitted to Cabinet. Why not the DPP? Can cabinet members even evaluate an investigative report?"

"So I don't understand the press release to mean that. Courtney, I think it is merely for cabinet to have an oversight of the process. And so once it is that, Ms. Anderson reaches a certain level of her investigation and completes it, the cabinet can hold her accountable in terms of the progress on it. Cabinet cannot tamper with her report, cannot change anything in her report. So I think that's a false narrative that's trying to be created. Obviously, it's going to have to end up with the DPP for decision. And so cabinet is merely overseeing the process to ensure that it moves along swiftly."
