Police in Dangriga are investigating a burglary at the town's Treasury Department.
Around 8:00 this morning, officers responded to the government building after staff arriving for work discovered it had been broken into. According to police, a safe containing a "small amount of cash was stolen."
The burglary is believed to have occurred sometime overnight or in the early hours of the morning.
Police are now appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity near the Dangriga Treasury is urged to contact the Dangriga Police Station at 522-2022, or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 922
Thieves broke into the treasure and stole the safe in August of 2024 and in March of 2023. No arrest was made in either case and no monies recovered. The total stolen is now in the many tens of thousands of dollars.
