Tonight, the Belgrave family on East Canal is still trying to come to terms with the murder of their loved one which happened right in front of their home yesterday.
The victim Jahmy Belgrave had gone to visit his children at the family home, but was targeted as he was leaving by a gunman who was waiting for him. His sister told us off camera she still cannot process what happened.
Voice of: Sister of Deceased
"To be honest I haven't processed it as yet. It's like seeing him in the back of that police truck. It is just unbelievable so I haven't really processed it as yet I am still in a state of shock so until then I don't really know how to feel."
Og-
"Do you remember the last time you spoke to him?"
Voice of: Sister of Deceased
"Wednesday I spoke to him Wednesday and told him I haven't heard from him in a while and if he is good and he told me yes he's good and then I asked him where he was I told him I came to look for him and he wasn't at my Daddy, and he said he doesn't come to hang out here anymore and I told him oh okay well I'll see you weekend and then he was like alright. And that was it, that was it."
OG-
"How are you coping with this entire situation."
Voice of: Sister of Deceased
"Like I said I am not coping at all. It is unbelievable, it is unbelievable. We lost our Dad, January this year, then my uncle, May, and now this, so it's like every time you take your mind off it it's like something happens again so to be honest I am not coping and I just don't know how to feel."
Og-
"Do you remember your favorite memory of him, something you shared as siblings?"
Voice of: Sister of Deceased
"And I have lots of good memories because he is a clown and he likes to tease me and he likes to take us for his clown, he takes all of us for his clown. I have a lot of good memories with him and you always have to force him to take pictures with you. He doesn't want to take a picture because he says you will post him and he doesn't want anyone to see him but we have a lot of good memories with him."
So far no-one has been detained.
