No-one has been detained so far and police are urging residents who live in the area to review their surveillance cameras to see if it picked up any vehicle trailing the Sarita truck. ASP Smith says this case cannot be left unsolved:

"The Belize Police department expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the victims, two very hardworking persons. It is always something that tugs at one's heart when persons are going about their daily lives earning an honest living and their lives are cut short so certainly we express our condolences and we have assigned a team of officers to investigate this incident. On the last occasion I would have advised that the initial review of the footage that were discovered in the Country Farms robbery did not prove successful and we had widened our search so we were actually in the process of combing all those footages and that is something that we will still do and again I want to remind persons to take some time out of your day to see, review footages and to share that information because it is certainly a case that needs to be resolved because this cannot be the new norm for Belize."
