And what the DPP just described: persons who encouraged someone to give false statements can be charged for perverting the course of justice.

That leads inevitably to the Joseph Budna abduction - where at least two police officers have reportedly been made to give false statements in the Budna investigation.

The DPP told us she is looking at bringing such charges:

Jules Vasquez
"Is this something that your office may have to be looking at in the Budna file that lies before you? That, there may have been the perversion of the court, of course of justice."

Cheryl Lynn Vidal, DPP

"Definitely. Definitely. We are looking towards charges, not just for the persons directly involved in the kidnapping, but for the persons who tried to get individuals to give false statements, or those who actually give false statements. The next few weeks are going to be very critical to our investigation."
