There was a daring armed robbery yesterday evening at an office complex linked to the Fort George Hotel in Belize City.
According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday, around 6:30 p.m. CIB personnel visited the Residence Building of the Fort George Hotel on Cork Street - which is about 200 meters from the main hotel.
Police met a 33-year-old accounts payable clerk of Belama Phase One, who reported that two men dressed in full black and armed with 9mm pistols stormed into her office and demanded money. She told investigators that the men then took her into another office and tied her up.
Moments later, she managed to free herself and returned to her office, where she discovered that a cash pan containing nine thousand dollars in Belize currency had been stolen along with her purse.
The suspects then escaped through the front gate.

It took place at a separate office facility in the vicinity that is not part of the hotel's guest areas or operations.
