He's usually the one working behind the scenes at the Magistrate's Court, but today a clerk was before the court on an ammunition charge.
37-year-old Sean Lord, a licensed firearm holder, was arraigned this afternoon along with his girlfriend on two criminal charges.
They were charged for; One count of possession of a controlled drug, for 25 grams of marijuana, and for kept ammunition in excess of the amount specified by his license.
They both pleaded not guilty to the possession of a controlled drug and that was adjourned.
In a search early today, Lord was found in possession of 120 rounds of ammunition at his home near mile 8 on the George Price Highway.
He had 20 rounds over the limit permitted under his license, and as a result was taken to the Belize Family Court to be arraigned instead of the Magistrate's Court where he works, due to a possible conflict of interest.
He was represented by attorney Dickie Bradley. Lord pleaded guilty to the ammunition charges and the Magistrate said that in all the circumstances she does not see why she cannot impose a fine. She did and it was set at $500.
Bradley submitted that Lord is a mature citizen of Belize who is gainfully employed and has a license firearm that allow him to hold ammunitions.
