A father of two will serve 7 years for unlawful Sexual Intercourse with an 11 year old boy.
That man is 25 year old Kenroy Lanza who appeared in the High Court today before justice Candice Nanton for his sentencing.
Justice Nanton found Lanza guilty of unlawful sexual Intercourse with a minor on three different occasions between February and April 2020.
Today a mitigation hearing was held where character witnesses spoke well of Lanza. The judge note the aggravating factors, that the victim was only 11; the prevalence of the crime; and that the offense occurred in the presence of another minor. She also noted that threats were made towards the victim by the convict.
With that, Nanton handed down a 7 year sentence, leaving him to serve 6 more years since he had already served a year during a pre-trial custody period.
Prosecutor representing the DPP's office was Joseph Perez. Lanza was represented by Abibi Moguel of Lynden Jones & Associates.
