A senior citizen was brutally attacked and assaulted by a man today in Lord's Bank. And he also tried to rape her.
The 76 year old told police that she had just gotten off the bus at the entrance of Green Estate Area and walked in half a mile to pick up "Supa Seeds" that she cooks and sells. That's when she was approached by a person from behind who sexually assaulted her. He then pulled a gun from his waist, threw her down into the bushes and tried to rape her but she fought back. He also slapped and punched her in her face causing injuries to the right side of her head.
The man then eventually gave up and emptied her bag taking 2 phones and $25 dollars.
He then jumped on a bicycle and rode off. The victim was taken to the Ladyville health center where she was treated and released. Her injuries were certified as wounding. Police have yet to detain a suspect.
