And even though police charged Hernandez, his family claims that security footage from their house offers an alibi and proves that he was at home at the time of the murders. ASP Smith says that police have reviewed that evidence and it does not align with their findings:

"I spoke with the investigator just a while ago because I did see the report that was placed on the media and in my discussions with the investigator they said yes they in fact visited the family pretty shortly after the incident as soon as that information became known to them. In the interest of conducting a thorough investigation the files were extracted however it was not able to conclusively support their version of events and based on the investigation and the evidence gathered so far that is what led police to the charges that have been proffered."
