On Saturday two teenagers lost their lives when they were knocked down in Cotton Tree Village.
Tonight the families of Axel Cho and Jonathan Milian are grieving and bewildered because they didn't even know the teenagers had access to, or could drive the motorcycle that ended their lives.
And, tonight, a surveillance video of the accident has surfaced which seems to contradict the police report. Jaleeza Roberts went out to meet with the families and files this report:
This is the 18 wheeler gas truck that caused the death of best friends and 15 year olds Axel Cho and Jonathan Milian.
They became friends in first form, as classmates at Belmopan Comprehensive and were inseparable.
On Saturday afternoon, was a routine hang out for the boys, became their last ride together when they were both killed on a motorcycle.

Jaqueline Milian, Guardian of Jonathan Milian
"We were coming down from down South when my sister called and gave us the news, this was very shocking for us you know, we always watch the news and never a day we would think that something like this would hit us."
Both parents and guardians don't even know where they got the bike from - much less that they were driving it:
Matilda Cho, Mother of Axel Cho
"When I get the news about it honestly, I didn't know what to do, I wish it was just a lie and it wasn't my son but then I had to go and identify the body and there he was with Jonathan, his best friend, they are best friends from first form. Jonathan was happy to see Axel on Saturday, they were happy to spend time. He just told me mom you know you guys go together with yourself and the other boys and I will stay with Jonathan, go and enjoy without me and that hurts, that hurts that he told me those words."
And when they left without him is when the accident happened:
ASP Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer

"What we have learned so far in the course of this ongoing investigation is that at approximately 5:00Pm on Saturday 21st March 2026 both Cho and Milton were on a motorcycle which was being driven by Cho it is reported that Cho entered the George price Highway near Mile 43 and upon doing so a collision occurred between that motorcycle and a Tandem truck which was traveling towards Belmopan city. It is reported that the driver of the tandem truck sought to avoid the collision however the bowser which was attached to the Tandem truck made contact with the motorcycle which resulted in the eventual demise of these individuals."
Footage of the accident suggests otherwise though - it looks like the truck just sped past and ran them over - like he didn't even see them.
But the motorcycle they were riding remains in question as not even the family has been unable to ascertain who it belongs to, as none of the boys own it:
Reporter
"Does police know who owned the motorcycle?"
ASP Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer
"That has not been established that is being sought because as you would know neither of those individuals were the owner of a drivers license so certainly an offense if it is that somebody knowingly and willfully gave this motorcycle to these individuals has been committed so the identity of the owner of that motorcycle is being sought as a part of the investigation."
"What we do know is that they are reported to have entered from a feeder road onto the highway the investigation is hoped to provide further clarity, I do know that there are some businesses in the area that have video footages and have been advised that the officers will be pursuing those to see what clarity they can give to the investigation."
And while one would be quick to assume this is a case of boys being boys leading to a tragedy. The family says, that is not who these boys were:

Matilda Cho, Mother of Axel Cho
"I wish I know cause he wouldn't leave my side, he wouldn't leave home because he has to ask me permission for everything because they were obedient, they were obedient children, everything is yes ma'am, no ma'am, morning ma, goodnight ma, I love you ma, nothing you hear he is fighting or he is doing drugs or anything, nothing."
Jaqueline Milian, Guardian of Jonathan Milian
"He was a very quiet and humble young man. He loved nature, he loved horses, he loved painting. His ambition was to someday build a house for his mom and his two sisters."
Reporter
"Was he the oldest?"
Jaqueline Milian, Guardian of Jonathan Milian
"Yes he was the oldest and the oldest son."
"He loved horses, he wanted to be a cowboy, he was still deciding what he wants to be in life, he was working part time, he was studying and besides that the passion he had for horses that was cut short."
And for Jonathan Milian, his dreams of becoming a cowboy were cut short, with even his boss pouring out a tribute on Facebook
And his family is left to mourn:
Jaqueline Milian, Guardian of Jonathan Milian
"Words cannot describe how we all feel, this just hurts, I cannot even say how we all feel at this moment. Especially his mom my sister, his uncle, my brother, he was like a dad to him. It's very, I can't explain how this feels for us."
Axel, the oldest sibling for his mom, will be remembered as the reason his mom grew up after being pregnant at a young age.
Matilda Cho, Mother of Axel Cho
"My son was a hardworking obedient child, my son was my love, my first love, he raised me. I had him at a young age and he actually became the person to mold me into who I am, to become what I am right now. Everyday he tell me ma, you strong ma, I want be like you, I want be like you. He'd say no worry bout nothing ma, Everything I would rail up and say where are you? He would reach home and say see me ya ma, no di trip g, I am here."
Two lives, two interconnected families affected and so many questions left unanswered. Jaleeza Roberts, 7 News..
The driver has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
We note that Axel and Jonathan became the second and third 15 year olds to have been knocked down and killed in 48 hours. Alex Griffith was also run over in Ladyville on Thursday afternoon.
