Veteran Public Officer Charged For Trafficking 16 Pounds Of Weed

Tonight, a senior public officer stands accused of drug trafficking after police busted him with 16 pounds of weed.

At around 7:45 this morning, acting on intelligence police conducted a search at #8 Starkey Hill, Piccini area, where they found 45 year old Andrew Wade, the Communications officer at NEMO Belmopan branch.

When police searched the home they found 10 parcels of cannabis wrapped in transparent plastic. Wade was informed of the offence committed which is drug trafficking and he was taken into custody.

When police weighed the weed it added up to 16.3 pounds. He appeared in Belmopan court today with attorney Oscar Selgado where he was remanded due to the quantity of marijuana he's accused of trafficking.
