Police are working to detain possible suspects for the death of both teens, Jaheil Westby and Alwin Marin. ACP Hilberto Romero says they have yet to determine whether Marin was fatally shot like Westby.
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"The information we have is that they were together so it was a case we were following from the day and we await the post Mortem results for the body of Alwin Marin. The body is partly decomposed so we will await a post mortem examination."
Jo:
"Would you be able to say from what you gathered at the scene why is it that Marin's body was found much further away from Mr Westby do you believe they were running from someone?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"Well that is what the scene is showing that they both ran away from that area in separate directions."
Jo:
"Do you guys have any information that the motive behind both their killings has to do with any horse related business?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"Yes that is the information we have they had some issues with horses regarding the horses that are there by port."
Jo:
"So why is it that police were unable to find both of them at the same time did they not check the surrounding area?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"Yes the surroundings were checked like I said this body was found deep in the bushes so it took days to search, it is a large area so it took days to search."
Area representative for Port Loyola Gilroy Usher issued a statement today saying, quote, "I condemn in the strongest term the coldblooded murders I appeal to the public to assist the police fully to ensure the perpetrators of the outrageous crime are brought to justice."
