A violent machete attack and a subsequent fire in San Marcos Village and the aftermath have been keeping police busy as they try to sift through the power dynamics of village politics.

More than two weeks after the chopping Police have charged three villagers: Pablo Muku, Edward Muku, and Verhenio Pop jointly for Aggravated Burglary.

Edward Muku pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined $800.00 plus $5.00 costs on each charge which he must pay by July 31st or face 8 months imprisonment. Pablo Muku and Verhenio Pop pleaded not guilty and were granted bail, and are expected to re-appear in court on July 14th for disclosure.

A house fire that happened days after this chopping is now under investigation.
