And while earlier you heard Mira say they will do all they can to find Dr Bonilla's killers, the handling of this case contrasts sharply with how the murder of 21 year old Zamar Alvarez was treated. We asked him why the same energy wasn't put out for Alvarez - who was a son of Belmopan.

Reporter
"Last night you stated that, you know, you all will do whatever it takes to bring Doctor Bonilla's killers to to justice. You know, Doctor Bonilla, he was, you know, obviously beloved. He helped a lot of people. But why wasn't this same type of energy put for the other young man who was killed in Belmopan?"

Oscar Mira, Minister of Home Affairs
"But how do you know that energy has not been put? I think you're assuming something that is not so. And, it is misleading because since I've become, and I won't speak about anybody else before me, but I will speak about the time that I have been here. I've had several meetings with the Commissioner of Police and investigators, and we have put the energy in every, every case that we have had in this country. I think that more than ever, investigators have done a tremendous job in solving the majority of those murders that have happened here in this country. I think it is not right. I think it is not okay to assume that we have not put the same energy."
