Turning now to other news, it was a tragic weekend on Belize's highways: 7 men were killed in various road traffic accidents across the country. The first happened on Friday morning at 6:45 at Mile 72 on the George Price highway in the Kontiki are of San Ignacio. The victim was 30 year old Geromey Chuc. ASP Stacy Smith told us how the accident occurred.

"The officers responded where they were able to confirm his report and subsequently learned the identity of this male person to be 30 year old Geromey Chuc, a security guard of Benque Viejo Town. The scene was processed as a part of the ongoing investigation into this incident."
"What the indication is so far is that Mr Chuc appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle and veered off road, resulting in his injury."
