A pregnant, 22-year-old Belize City woman was found dead in her home Sunday morning. But, at this time, foul play is not suspected and police are treating the case as a death investigation. Here's what ASP Smith shared with us about the demise of the woman known as "Kimmie Boo":

"Police are investigating the death of 22-year-old Kimane Garbutt of Belize City. The investigation commenced on 2nd August 2026 at around 9:30 a.m. when investigators were called to a residence on Vernon Street and the body of Garbutt, which had already begun to decompose, was discovered. What the investigators have learned is that Garbutt, who was with child, was last seen alive at around 7:00 a.m. on 1st August 2026, at which time she indicated to a friend that she was not feeling well. The friend visited her at around 9:00 a.m. on the 2nd and after calls to her went unanswered, he entered the apartment building and made the discovery and subsequently alerted police. The body of Ms. Garbutt now awaits a post-mortem examination."
"No foul play is suspected at this time, however as I stated, a post-mortem examination will be conducted."
