The National Trade Union Congress of Belize is also reiterating its firm opposition to BTL's buyout of Speednet. Union leaders say that despite a previously announced government pause, key concerns regarding legality, valuation independence, and worker protections remain completely unanswered. Lizarraga added that responsibility now rests with the Public Utilities Commission, and BTL will abide by the regulator's final decision.
