There will be good news in the New Year for all you holiday hunters as Christmas 2005 will be celebrated over a four day weekend. The decision was made because Christmas will fall on a Sunday moving that holiday to Monday thereby "boxing out" Boxing Day which will have to move to a Tuesday, thus giving you four uninterrupted days of Christmas cheer.
Overall, though, weekend warriors may be disappointed with 2005's holiday offering, which, with the exception of Christmas and Easter, offer only four long weekends compared to this year's five. The first of those long weekends is in March, on Monday the 7th, which will be observed as Baron Bliss Day.
May has two long weekends, Monday May 2nd which will be given in substitution for Sunday, May 1st, and Monday May 23rd which will be given in lieu of Tuesday May 24th which is Sovereign's day. The next long weekend is in October when the Day of the Americas will be observed on Monday October 10th instead of the Wednesday on which it falls.
All other holidays, and there are 13 of them, will be observed on the days on which they fall. A full list of the holidays can be viewed on the [government website.](<p>There will be good news in the New Year for all you holiday hunters as Christmas
